Born 12th November 1966 in Queens, New York and raised in Los Angelos by lawyer parents. David attended Beverley Hills High School where he was first exposed to acting, enrolling in a Drama Class on a freak chance. On completion an instructor encouraged him to attend a Summer acting course at North Western Uni in Chicago, he recalls "I was sold on acting after that Summer Workshop because of my epxerience at North Western. It was both enlightening and exhilerating". Schwimmer's hobbies are softball, basketball, ping pong and playing poker with his mates. He has 2 residences, one in Los Angelos and the other in Chicago. The character played by David is Ross Geller - a sensitive, hopeless romantic. Ross is Monica's older brother who is employed at a museum as a paleontologist and curator (carer of museum artifacts). Ross is the only member of the gang who has ever been married (so far). His wife Carol whom he has a son called Ben with, proclaimed she was a lesbian and left him - now he's planning to marry again (but not Rachel). In the first series of Friends Ross had a monkey called Marcell who was very mischevious and he had to be sent to the zoo. Later he became famous starring in Beer adds and in the film 'Outbreak 2'.
